My Philosophy
I believe children have unique and different learning styles, and one must learn to accommodate and create an environment that invites them to observe, to be active, to make choices and to experiment. As an early childcare educator, I feel the responsibility to provide young children with positive learning experiences and lots of play to stimulate creativity, motor skills, critical thinking and self-expression.
My role as an educator is to facilitate and provide enriching activities so that children are supported as they learn about their strengths, work on their weaknesses and discover their potential. I believe children need a secure and stimulating environment, caring and loving caretakers to grow and mature emotionally, intellectually, physically and socially.
I practice the Reggio Pedagogy Method to instruct in a play base, child directed way and create a community while fostering individualism. Every day, I do my best to give students their own voice by listening and giving the tools for positive interaction to have the ability to interact successfully with each other.
My goal is to help children develop a healthy self-image, sense of responsibility, helpfulness, learn problem solving and acquire decision making skills. Also to enrich their lives and support them to become independent, self-sufficient, competent and compassionate individuals using different tools and a creative curriculum followed by a routine that incorporates excitement and fun.
Beyond teaching and learning, I believe there are other important aspects of my role in the lives of children. These aspects include, modeling good behavior, showing respect, setting boundaries, having fair and consistent rules, having an open line of communication and dialogue, and empathizing with others including animals.
I seek to form a close relationship with each child under my care, and their families. I see each child as a unique individual with great potential and abilities that only need to be explored and encouraged in order to become great talents. I strive to provide an environment where children and families from different cultural backgrounds feel welcomed, accepted and respected. I want to share my excitement for teaching to children and parents.
